A yellow mutation of Piennolo Del Vesuvio. The famed hanging tomato from Naples' Campania region near Mount Vesuvius. Discovered in a farmer's field and named after his daughter Giulia (GiaGiu, short for Gialla di Giulia, meaning "Giulia's yellow").

One of the Mediterranean's legendary long-storage tomatoes, it keeps for several months at room temperature, up to 10 months in good years. Flavor is meaty and rich with moderate acidity, a welcome contrast to the one-note sweetness of modern varieties. Plum-shaped saladette fruit, 12–40g each.

This mid-late season, potato-leaf plant thrives in warm, dry climates and tolerates mild drought. Plant slightly later than main-season tomatoes. Reduce irrigation significantly once fruits begin to ripen to maximize shelf life and prevent cracking.

85–100 days to maturity
